The first tablet PCs with multitouch capacitive displays come from the Lenovo ThinkPad line, a series better known for its durability and reliability rather than cutting-edge technology. The X200T is essentially an X200 convertible tablet PC but with the active digitizer screen replaced by a capacitive one. Recognizing that most laptop displays are hard to read under bright conditions, an ultrabright panel is available as an option for outdoor use.
The ThinkPad T400s, one of the sleekest ThinkPads launched three months back, has become the largest tablet PC in Lenovo's stable. The X200T and T400s are available in the US starting at US$1,654 and US$1,999, respectively.
