With Samsung on fire after loosing the court battle with Apple for its Android line of smartphones, today they have announced the launch of its first Windows 8 powered smartphone, ATIV S.

- It packs a dual-core 1.5GHz processor
- 1GB of RAM and
- 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display
- 8-megapixel camera with LED flash in back
- 1.9MP camera in front
- Bluetooth 3.0
- NFC (near-field communication)
- Assisted GPS and its Russian counterpart, Glonass
- comes with either 16 or 32GB of storage
- can connect to HSPA+ 42 networks (such as T-Mobile's, AT&T).
It's not known when the ATIV S might come the the U.S.
