Ever since Google launched its mobile OS Android, geeks all over the world have been waiting to see a phone based off of Antroid OS. Google has created roughly five prototypes to demonstrate the Open Handset Alliance software to potential members.

The FCC has approved HTC’s ‘Dream’ phone, which will now be the first Android-based handset to hit the market, InfoWeek reports. It will support T-Mobile’s 3G network. The phone will have Google maps, Google Street Views, Google Earth like timezones and the best of all, really cool text messaging applications.

Considering the Google Android open Source platform, if the HTC Dream lacks any functionality, open source community will build nice applications for use. See what Windows Mobile community is doing for winMob phone!! Google’s Street View gets the Android treatment with a built-in compass. That lets you pan around the location-based image, turning the handset into something of an augmented reality device.

Best of all, the Android phone will have the most unique and amazing screen unlocking feature. Check out the video below.

These are some amazing videos that you can watch for the most awaiting phone by Google and HTC.
