USA Approves Google HTC Phone - Dream
Ever since Google launched its mobile OS Android, geeks all over the world have been waiting to see a phone based off of Antroid OS. Google has created roughly five prototypes to demonstrate the Open Handset Alliance software to potential members.
The FCC has approved HTC’s ‘Dream’ phone, which will now be the first Android-based handset to hit the market, InfoWeek reports. It will support T-Mobile’s 3G network. The phone will have Google maps, Google Street Views, Google Earth like timezones and the best of all, really cool text messaging applications.
Considering the Google Android open Source platform, if the HTC Dream lacks any functionality, open source community will build nice applications for use. See what Windows Mobile community is doing for winMob phone!! Google’s Street View gets the Android treatment with a built-in compass. That lets you pan around the location-based image, turning the handset into something of an augmented reality device.
Nokia Launched N96 To Fight With iPhone
So the much awaited Nokia iPhone killer is out. Before the launch of iPhone in India, world's largest mobile phone maker Nokia on Tuesday unveiled its new device, N96 under its 'N-Series'.
N96, which is expected to hit the Indian market by September, is likely to be priced above Rs 30,000.
I don't know how many people would buy iPhone in India which is priced at roughly around Rs. 31,000. There is a poll going on at informationmadness.com which shows that around 75% people are not willing to spend Rs. 25,000 & above to buy an iPhone.
HTC Touch Diamond: An Alternative to iPhone
Because everybody is so hooked to the iPhone craze, mobile phone manufacturers continue to create and offer something close yet relatively more affordable than the Apple iPhone. The HTC Touch Diamond has a 2.8-inch touch screen, with four times the pixels of most phones. It has Vibrant TouchFLO 3D user interface, responding perfectly to your finger gestures when scrolling through contacts, browsing the web, and launching media--all vividly displayed as photos and artwork powered by the 3D graphics processor. How's that? And if you are looking for the internet connectivity that iPhone boasts, the HTC Touch Diamond also allows you to surf and download at broadband speed with HSDPA internet connectivity. It has a 3.2 mega-pixel camera for capturing moments. And of course, there's 4GB storage for your music and files. To be honest, it may be worth having more than the iPhone.
