I get many emails and comments asking this simple question "Is iPad DLNA comaptible?". To answer that question in one word, NO. The iPad iPod iPhone DNLA is not available by default but there are ways you can have iPad add UPnP support.
I previously wrote an article on list Of DLNA uPnP Player For iPad iPhone iPod. The article shows a way for media link player download. Today I found another app that can basically be used as a DLNA Controller App for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iOS 4.2 or higher.
The app is called Gizmoot which turns your iPhone into a remote control for playing music, movies and photos in your house over your WiFi network using UPnP and DLNA devices. The app is available for free via iTunes.
This DLNA Controller App allows you to browse your media on a DLNA (UPnP AV) media server and have it play on a DLNA (UPnP AV) Media Renderer. It can support playlists and slideshows so you can have your Samsung TV or WDTV stream your iPhone or iPad or iPod touch media directly from your iOS device without any wires.
Using this app Music, Movie and Photo files can be browsed on your UPnP/DLNA media server and played on your UPnP/DLNA media renderer device.
You can download it from Direct link to iTunes App Store
