
Mercedes-Benz is releasing its own spy shots of the 2012 SLK testing in the Death Valley, California. The most techie feature of the 2012 SLK is, Magic Sky Control Roof.
The Magic Sky Control roof is a glass-paneled hardtop device that can be automatically darkening to control the amount of light shines through the glass roof in an effort to keep the interior cooler.
Mercedes-Benz states that the system works on the principle of a plate condenser. The glass roof has some special particles in it, which react to electrical voltage.
And when you push that button you’re feeding it voltage or cutting the supply off, thus the glass becomes transparent or not. The Magic Sky Control system comes as optional equipment 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK, which will cost roughly $2,770.
The 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK is anticipated to go on sale by next summer, and it will most likely to make its debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2011.
